Yenikapı Mevelevîhanesi kurulduktan sonra peş peşe Ahmed ismini taşıyan şeyh tarafından yönetilmiştir. İlk tasavvuf tecrübesini Eyüp’te Kasım Baba’nın yanında gerçekleştiren Sabûhî Dede, daha sonra Konya’ya gidip Bostan Çelebi ve Ebû Bekir Çelebi’ye intisap etmiştir. On üç yıl Konya’da seyr ü sülûk eğitimini sürdürmüş ve sonunda Mevlevî dedesi olmuştur. Şam Mevlevîhânesi şeyhliğine tayin edilen Sabûhî Dede, Şam’da telif ettiği İhtiyârât-ı Sabûhî adlı eserinde Mesnevî’den intihap ettiği beyitlerin şerhini yapmıştır. Yenikapı Mevlevîhânesi şeyhleri Kemal Ahmed Dede, Doğânî Ahmed Dede ve Sabûhî Ahmed Dede hakkında şimdiye kadar verilen bilgiler tashihe muhtaçtır. Bu sebeple döneme ait kaynaklar yeniden taranmış, ulaşılan bilgi ve bulgular üzerinden yeni veriler ortaya konulmuştur. Eserde öncelikle XVII. yüzyılda İstanbul’daki tarikatların genel durumu, Mevlevîliğin İstanbul’a gelişi ve bu dönemde faaliyet gösteren diğer tarikatlar ve temsilcileri hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Bu normlar, grupların etkileşimi sırasında oluşan ve üyelerin davranışlarını düzenleyen yaptırımı olan kıstaslardır. Liderin davranışı hem bu normlar tarafından oluşturulmuş yapılar içerisinde ortaya çıkmakta, hem de bu normlardan etkilenmektedir. DP iktidarlarının tatbike koyduğu siyaset ve ekonomi politikası tüm Türkiye’yi etkilediği kadar şehirler açısından da büyük dönüşümleri beraberinde getirdi.Eserde CHP hükümetleri dönemi Samsun’unun siyasi ve ekonomik hayatının panoraması sunulurken, bu dönem ile DP hükümetleri döneminde uygulanan siyasi ve ekonomik politikalar arasındaki ilişki irdelenmektedir. Özellikle DP’nin uygulamaya koyduğu ekonomi politiğin Samsun yerelindeki izdüşümü araştırmanın temel meselesidir. DP hükümetlerinin ekonomik manada uygulamaya koyduğu yeniliklerin Samsun şehri üzerinde gösterdiği etkinin seçmen davranışlarına ne şekilde yansıdığı, ekonomik gelişmelerin Samsun siyasetini nasıl yönlendirdiği çalışmanın yanıtlamaya çalıştığı sorulardandır.DP; Samsun yerelinde 1950 ve 1954 genel seçimlerinde seçmen tarafından oldukça yüksek oranda destek görürken, 1957 genel seçimlerinde Samsunlu seçmenden aldığı destek azaldı. Jeomorfolojik gözlemler neticesinde birimler tespit edilmiş ve morenler ile fosil kaya buzulları üzerinden alınan örneklere kozmojenik tarihlendirme uygulanmıştır. Belirli bir plan çerçevesinde yürütülen çalışma, altı bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş olarak belirlenen çalışmanın ilk bölümünde araştırma alanının yeri ve sınırları ile araştırmanın amacı ve yöntemi ortaya konulmuştur. Bu bölümde ayrıca önceki çalışmalar ayrıntılı olarak belirtilmiştir. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde alanın fiziki coğrafya özellikleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Bu kapsamda topografya özellikleri, jeolojik yapı, iklim özellikleri ve hidrografya durumu analiz edilmiştir. Buzul jeomorfolojisi özelliklerinin belirtildiği üçüncü bölümde Karçal Dağları; Karçal Dağı, Ziyaret Dağı ve Büyükmera Dağı olmak üzere üç grupta değerlendirilmiştir. Bu gruplar kendi içlerinde ünitelere, üniteler ise buzul vadilerine ayrılarak sistematik yapı kazandırılmıştır. Çalışma ile alanda 7 ünite ve 26 buzul vadisi tespit edilerek ayrıntılı olarak incelenmiştir. Bu bölümde ayrıca güncel buzullara da değinilmiştir. Alanın periglasyal jeomorfoloji özellikleri çalışmanın dördüncü bölümünü oluşturmaktadır. Bu bölümde de alanda tespiti yapılan kaya buzulları, nivasyon sirkleri, girland taraçaları ve şeritli topraklar incelenmiştir. Buzullaşmanın evriminin nicel verilerle ortaya konulduğu kozmojenik tarihlendirme ve paleoiklim beşinci bölümü meydana getirmektedir. Bölüm içerisinde kozmojenik tarihlendirme yönteminin uygulanma aşamaları, kozmojenik tarihlendirme sonuçları ve paleoiklim değerlendirmeleri belirtilmiştir. Paleoiklim değerlendirmelerinde Karçal Dağları’ndaki buzulların geriye doğru çekilme aşamaları ve eski iklim koşulları irdelenmiştir.
