Arykanda Acropolis Sacred Areas and Cults Book Description: Arykanda, a city of the Lykia Region, also known as the Land of Light, is located within the borders of Arif Village, Finike District, Antalya Province. Archaeological excavations in Arykanda were carried out in 1971 by Prof. Dr. It started under the chairmanship of Cevdet Bayburtluoğlu. A large part of the city has been unearthed with the archaeological excavations carried out to date. In this book, prepared as the 1st issue of the publication "Arykanda", the sacred areas and cults in the Acropolis of the city are discussed. The first excavations in the Acropolis were carried out in the 1980s, and these studies continued at short intervals until 2003. After 15 years, the work was restarted in 2018. In the book. The Helios Temple and Sebasteion located in the Arykanda Acropolis were discussed in terms of their architectural features and evaluated together with their building phases. In order to determine the cult connections of these structures, their cults were also discussed in the light of epigraphic, numismatic and archaeological findings unearthed in and around both buildings. As a result of these evaluations, it was tried to reach thoughts and comments about the architectural features and cults of the sacred areas in the Acropolis. (From the Promotional Bulletin)
