Exiles in the Ancient Near East Book Description: The history of the Ancient Near East can, in a sense, be summarized as the history of wars, migrations and exiles. The population mobility in the region took place in the form of migrations due to natural factors, depending on the pressure of the climate, or exiles implemented in line with the economic and political goals of the political authorities. Especially as a result of wars won or rebellions suppressed, dynasty members, men and women, soldiers, civilians and various professionals were sent to various cities or regions to serve economic and political purposes. Presumably, the migrations and exile policies that took place starting from the Sumerian period paved the way for the population structure of the Ancient Near East in general, and therefore the belief, cultural and folkloric texture of the region, to evolve into a very diverse image. It is understood that, regardless of the reasons behind them, migrations, exiles and qualified population transfers both diversified and significantly transformed the political, cultural and demographic structure of the Ancient Near East geography. In this book, the migration and exile policies of the Ancient Near East are discussed chronologically. How exile and migration policies were implemented and the social and political consequences they created, especially in Egypt, Hittite, Neo-Assyria, Urartu, Neo-Babylonian and Persians, were evaluated in sections.
