Ottoman Empire Understanding the size and nature of the relationship between Turkey and diplomacy is important for understanding European politics and diplomacy. The diplomatic issues carried out during the reign of Sultan Abdulhamid, the symbol of late Ottoman politics, await to be examined more deeply in many respects. This study in your hand allows us to understand how effectively Sultan Abdülhamid used the diplomatic device in solving some problems that arose with the new borders and problems that disturbed the state in the period after the 1877-1878 Ottoman-Russian War, in the context of Hüseyin Kâzım Bey's diplomatic travels. In addition, the British occupation of Egypt in 1882, the situation in the Balkans, the Armenian issue and the diplomatic moves carried out against them seem to be fleshed out with the diplomatic travels of Hüseyin Kâzım Bey, one of Sultan Abdülhamid's house clerks, which are the subject of this study. So much so that the study reveals that Hüseyin Kâzım Bey, as an indispensable figure who served in extraordinary embassy delegations that emerged on various occasions/pretexts, exchanged ideas in various diplomatic circles regarding the current problems in the countries to which he was sent. In this context, the present study approaches some of such embassy missions that served to shape the balance policy of Sultan Abdulhamid as a case study. On the other hand, the study examines Hüseyin Kâzım Bey's carefully prepared albums crowning his travels to Germany, Austria, Russia and England, The photographs and engravings he added to these also come to the fore along with the travels in question. In terms of the information they contain, these travelogues provide important clues about Abdulhamid's diplomacy of the years 1882-1887, as well as revealing many new first-hand information.
