Management of Higher Education Book Description: How higher education institutions will be managed is at the center of discussions at national and global levels. "Research itself" is reminded again with this book as a guide for universities trying to find their way among students' individual expectations, economic targets that will enable countries to compete in the global arena, finding realistic solutions to social problems, political pressures of different groups, employer networks, bureaucratic processes, and academic freedoms. This study, which emphasizes that the policies that need to be developed for higher education management should be determined and evaluated based on research, brings together research that looks at higher education from different perspectives. Attention is drawn to the importance of accreditation and self-evaluation of faculties in order to ensure quality at the university. Studies that evaluate global-scale policies from the perspective of academics and students, such as the education policies of the European Union, are included, and distance education practices are evaluated from various aspects. It is evaluated through research that draws attention to teacher training policies, graduate tracking systems and formation courses. In studies where quality at the university is closely associated with the professional development of academicians, the professional development needs of academicians, starting with research assistants, are defined. As a way of quality in research, research projects and quality indicators sought in research are analyzed in line with academicians' perspectives on research.
