A clear indication of this impact is that his commentary on Aristotle’s Physics was translated into Latin even before Aristotle’s original text itself was rendered into that language.\u003cbr\u003eAs is well known, Ibn Rushd composed three commentaries on Aristotle’s Physics: the short commentary (al-sharḥ al-ṣaghīr, Jawāmiʿ al-Samāʿ al-Ṭabīʿī), the middle commentary (al-sharḥ al-awsaṭ, the Talkhīṣ), and the long commentary (al-sharḥ al-kabīr, the Tafsīr). However, what has come down to us from these works is limited to the Arabic text of the short commentary, the Latin translation of the long commentary, and the Hebrew translation of the middle commentary.
